TOURS AND EVENTS AT THE GALLERY
"An Unexpected Journey" Gallery Tour
This is our regular tour and it is offered twice per day, at 10:30am and 2:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays between May and October. Between November and April we have one tour per week-end, either on a Saturday or on a Sunday. Please check the calendar on our Admission page.
We are also able to accommodate private tours so please use our Contact form if you are interested in a private tour (minimum four people or financial equivalent) and we will be happy to help find a day and time that will work at your end.
The tour takes about 90 minutes:
In the lower galleries you will hear presentation on the architecture of the house, its history and most famous owners, as well as an introduction to the art and ethos of visual artist Eugen-Florin Zamfirescu.
In the upper galleries you have an opportunity to meet the artist and travel together on an unexpected journey: from the painting techniques of the High Renaissance to Newtonian physics and quantum mechanics.

Barbara’s performing career has been a versatile one. Opera credits include Ophélie in Hamlet, Fanny in La Cambialie di Matrimonio, Rosalinda and Adele in Die Fledermaus. She has also played such non-musical roles in I’ll Be Back Before Midnight, The Mousetrap and Private Lives.
In addition to performing Carlotta in both the touring and Toronto productions of The Phantom of the Opera, Barbara starred opposite Dmitri Hvorostovsky as Donna Elvira in Rhombus Media’s film of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. She spent several seasons with the Canadian Opera Company and the Stratford Festival and has been a featured soloist with symphony orchestras across North America. She has toured southern Ontario with her one-woman show Come to the Woods, about pioneer artist and writer Anne Langton. Barbara currently teaches voice at Western University in London and privately in Stratford.
In a long-ago previous life in Kingston, Ontario, David combined a multi-award-winning journalistic career with an active participation in theatre, winning Eastern Ontario Drama League Awards for acting and directing, and performing with such professional companies as Theatre Five, Kingston Summer Festival and the Thousand Islands Playhouse in Gananoque. In the early 1990s, he appeared in a production of Macbeth directed by Robert Lepage at Hart House in Toronto, and later directed Guys and Dolls, Oliver! and Brigadoon for the Stratford Community Players.
In his time at the Stratford Festival, he participated as actor or director in a number of dramatic readings, including three scripts of his own devising. Though now retired from his position as the Festival’s Literary and Editorial Director, David has maintained a presence in its Meighen Forum, moderating panel discussions, hosting the Rarely Played reading series and presenting his popular Lobby Talks before selected performances.
